Also known as the St Nicholas Chapel, this is the perfect place to have your marriage blessed. Overlooking the stunning beaches of St Ives, Carbis Bay and Hayle for more than 500 years, The Chapel is cared for by St Ives Town Council. A popular location for wedding blessings, hand fasting and special events, such as vow renewals or naming ceremonies. Occasionally, The Chapel also hosts exhibitions. Whilst you cannot legally marry at The Chapel, this can be done with us at The Guildhall follwed by a celebration at The Chapel.

It’s perched on top of a hill overlooking the town and the ocean, the chapel offers stunning panoramic views in every direction. The peaceful atmosphere of the chapel itself adds to the charm, and it feels like a quiet retreat from the more bustling areas below. The walk up is definitely worth it, especially if you enjoy scenic views of both the sea and the surrounding landscape.

Lovely walk to the headland and up to the little church. Great views in all directions including beaches and town. Church itself has an interesting history after being demolished then rebuilt by the army. The building is open limited hours depending on weather.

The walk to St Nicholas Chapel from Porthmeor Beach takes just 5-10 minutes, while Porthminster Beach kicks off a stunning stretch of golden sands that extends all the way to Godrevy Lighthouse.
