Description: The Town Hall on the second floor is an ideal meeting room and conference centre and has an external balcony overlooking the main street. This room is called the Town Hall due to it’s additional use as the Council Chambers, where Chard Town Council meetings take place throughout the month. When hiring the Town Hall, the attached pantry is available for serving light refreshments and is fully fitted with fridge, microwave, toaster and sink. Capacity: Depending on the requirements of your booking the capacity of the Town Hall is up to 60 people.

The Town Hall is suitable for exhibitions, music practice, music events, meetings, parties, weddings, sports and fitness, societies and clubs and theatre productions.

Brilliant venue we have used for concerts and fundraisers. Great facilities including kitchen, stage and spacious clean main hall. Nothing too much trouble for staff members. A great option!

This is such an excellent venue with a lovely atmosphere. The staff couldn't be more helpful and very professional in every aspect. Great sound system too and the lighting was perfect. Thank you to everyone involved for helping us to enjoy a brilliant party night, just as we envisaged.

Cannot thank the Guildhall team enough for providing us with a excellent venue for our Strictly Come Dancing Event. Tim and Gary could not have been more helpful. Gary in particular changed lighting, set up microphones and put out chairs to make things easier for us on the night. The facilities were clean and tidy and the kitchen in good working order. A great evening in a great venue! Thank you Guildhall team!

We booked the Chard Guildhall for an Evening event. It is such a beautiful building and is meticulously maintained. It's incredible to believe it is nearly 200 hundred years old, has seen 8 Monarchs accede the Throne and is still in perfect order. We have been able to have around 100 people at the venue for the occasion and we were all comfortable with use of the bar and comfort facilities. The staff who we booked the Guildhall through, clearly take great pride in the Guildhall and with their stewardship it will continue to be a wonderful venue for events like birthdays and other celebrations and get-togethers. Thanks Chard Guildhall for a lovely space to hire and a great booking service, we were so well looked after.

The hiring of the guildhall was a quick and easy process with excellant communication. The venue was very clean and the kitchen had everything we needed. Gary the caretaker was excellant, he was helpful and polite. He had all the tables put out for us and also put them away after the event. Gary talked us through the fire procedure and also made sure fire exits were kept clear at all times. A very valued member of staff in our eyes.
